The manager of the motorcycle depot is Barry Thomson. Barry is a fully qualified motorcycle mechanic with many years of experience. He has a passion for motorcycles in whatever form they take, from Tourers, Sports and Custom through to off road specialist machines. Some may recognise him from his days with HMC or other companies within South Yorkshire, although after almost 5 years his roots are now firmly planted at Hawleys.
He is always willing to discuss your individual requirements and give logical, unbiased advice. He wants to keep seeing his current customers, many of whom have become personal friends, for the next however many years that they are bikers. Also to make new friends within the motorcycle fraternity for many years to come.
Barry is ably assisted by Ricky Harrap, who, despite his age is very knowledgeable about many aspects of this business and is also extremely enthusiastic, being brought up around motorcycles all his life. Ricky has received some of the best training available and has just achieved the Master Craftsman Certificate and is now an MOT Nominated Tester.
We also have a new member of staff in Lewis Bramwell, who hopes to follow in his colleagues footsteps and become a highly skilled mechanic. The workshop is fully equipped and is an MOT Test Centre.
As such, staff carry out repairs to almost any motorcycle, whether that is a simple oil and filter change to a more complex major engine rebuild. Fault diagnosis and rectification are all in addition to our core business of replacing motorcycle tyres, for which we are renowned throughout the region for quality of service and competitive pricing.
We have massive stocks of tyres from all the major manufacturers. All available for mail order - supply only - fitting to loose wheels or fully fitted to your machine while you wait
We are main agents for Avon, Bridgestone, Continental, Dunlop, Maxxis, Michelin, Metzler and Pirelli, keeping large stocks at all times. We are the main area stockist of the Maxxis Sports / Touring range of motorcycle tyres, which although known as a value for money tyre, it is said in motorcycle press tests, to perform equal to or even better than some premium brands. We now stock the very latest "MAXXIS DIAMOND" Sports Touring tyre. As members of the Dunlop Race to Road Dealer Network our staff also have an in depth knowledge of the Dunlop tyre range, along with all the other major brands.
Our staff regularly participate in manufacturers training and test days, which are often in the form of track testing of newly launched tyres. This is so that we can tell you exactly how each tyre feels and performs in real life situations and also make a well informed recommendation for your particular bike and riding style.
We assist an up and coming young motorcycle racer, "Marcus Woodbine" who is currently contesting the Thundersport Race Category and certain rounds of the Super Stock support series for the British Super Bike rounds.
